In Love with Bruno is a proposal for the German-built WWII submarine bunker located in Bergen. The history of the bunker is shameful but the project suggests a positive reading of Bruno and a transformation of its aggressive architecture into a facility for the local community and an attraction for visitors. The project argues that only when the building is exposed to the public, the healing of the wounds, both those of the society and the building, can begin. The proposed interventions respond to the physical reality of the building as well as memories and atmosphere, considering Bruno an object in need of love and attention. In Love with Bruno has been awarded with 1st Prize for SAIE Selection 2012 "The built environment renewal", in Bologna, Italy as well as Master's thesis with distinction.
